I get that question a lot. Which one is magic? Paleo/Vegan/Whole 30/Macros/Keto/carb-cycling/Unicorn glitter?

Sorry gang, there is no one size fits all here. If you’re a good coach, you should be a nutritional agnostic when you work with actual human beings. Knowing what works for a person’s lifestyle, health, goals, age, gender, preferences, hormonal status, budget...ALL those vital things that make you, well, You, come into play.

Some commonalities:

Simply paying better attention to what you eat is a critical factor in whether you’ll lose fat, get lean, and improve your health. Because what you focus on may not matter as much as caring more about what you’re eating in the first place.

Even when wildly different, the most popular diets, when engaged in with care, attention, and a little coaching, help control appetite, improve food quality, promote exercise, raise nutritional awareness, and hopefully lessen inflammation.

Every decent diet recommends eating whole, minimally processed, nutrient-rich foods., regardless of the protein, carb, and fat breakdowns.

A properly designed diet of any kind eliminates some of the most common nutrient deficiencies (water, specific vitamins and minerals, proteins, and essential fatty acids).

The best diet to follow is the one that’s best for your individual physiological and psychological needs. And hey, it may include some unicorn glitter.
